Maintenance Mechanic — 2nd & 3rd Shift

???? Morgantown, PA (about 1 hour from Downtown Philadelphia) | Full-Time

Pay & Schedule

• $30–$33/hour , up to $35/hour for the right candidate
• +15% shift differential (2nd/3rd shift)
• 8–10 hours of overtime available weekly
• $2,000 sign-on bonus
• Hiring for 3 positions :- 1 opening: 2nd Shift , 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM, Monday–Friday- 2 openings: 3rd Shift , 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Position Summary

The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving manufacturing equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, along with a basic understanding of industrial controls. Open to candidates from any manufacturing industry background.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and restore production with minimal downtime
• Install, repair, and modify machinery and facility equipment
• Complete work orders and maintenance documentation in the CMMS
• Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
• Support equipment installations, commissioning, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain a clean and organized work area

Required Skill Sets

Mechanical:

• Mechanical troubleshooting and repair
• Bearings, belts, chains, sprockets, gears, couplings
• Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, fans, compressors
• Welding and basic metal fabrication
• Precision alignment and mechanical assembly
• Lubrication and preventive maintenance
• Reading mechanical drawings

Electrical:

• Troubleshoot 24VDC, 120VAC, 240VAC, and 480VAC systems
• Motors, motor starters, contactors, relays, overloads
• Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
• Electrical panels and power distribution
• Electrical wiring and component replacement
• Use of multimeter and electrical test equipment
• Read and interpret electrical schematics

Controls & Automation (Basic):

• Basic PLC troubleshooting (monitor inputs/outputs)
• Identify faulty sensors, switches, and actuators
• Photoeyes, proximity sensors, limit switches
• Basic HMI navigation
• Understand control sequences and interlocks
• Assist with controls troubleshooting under guidance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or trade certification preferred
• 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Basic knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
• Ability to work independently and respond effectively to equipment breakdowns

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and working overhead
• Occasional climbing (stairs and ladders), stooping, kneeling, and crouching
