Employment Type: W2 Contract | Approximately 9 Months with Possibility of Extension
Pay Rate: $40.00 - $50.00/hour | Paid Weekly | Based on Experience
Work Model: Fully Onsite | Field-Based Manufacturing Environment
Shift: Night Shift | Monday–Friday | 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Weekend Availability: Occasional weekends may be required with advance coordination

BEPC is seeking an experienced HSE Safety Engineer to support our client's LNG heat exchanger manufacturing operations in Palmetto, Florida. This is a highly visible, hands-on safety position for an HSE professional who thrives in an industrial manufacturing environment and enjoys working directly with production teams.

Approximately 80% of your time will be spent on the shop floor , providing direct HSE support across production and warehouse operations. You'll conduct safety rounds, inspections, audits, risk assessments, employee coaching, incident investigations, and training while helping strengthen the site's overall safety culture.

This opportunity is especially well suited for an HSE professional with 5+ years of experience , strong industrial safety knowledge, and the confidence to engage employees at every level and exercise Stop Work Authority when conditions require it.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on HSE field support throughout production areas and warehouse operations.
• Spend approximately 80% of working time on the manufacturing floor , maintaining direct and consistent interaction with production employees.
• Conduct routine shop-floor safety rounds, inspections, and audits.
• Exercise Stop Work Authority when unsafe conditions or activities are identified.
• Train and empower employees to appropriately exercise Stop Work Authority.
• Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, environmental regulations, permits, certifications, and site requirements .
• Deliver HSE training and safety coaching to new hires and existing employees.
• Participate in Shift Starter / Tier 1 production meetings .
• Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify, evaluate, and mitigate workplace hazards.
• Review, update, and deploy Safe Work Procedures and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) .
• Track HSE actions and compliance requirements through closure using the site's HSE Management System.
• Conduct and support incident investigations and reporting .
• Identify corrective actions following incidents and help drive actions through completion.
• Collaborate with Production, HSE leadership, internal departments, senior management, and other stakeholders.
• Promote effective HSE communication, education, and employee engagement.
• Build positive relationships with production teams to strengthen the site's overall safety culture.
• Promote environmental responsibility and safe, sustainable manufacturing practices.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of HSE experience , with a strong emphasis on industrial safety .
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, requirements, and industry best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to apply HSE requirements within a manufacturing or industrial environment .
• Hands-on experience conducting safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Experience developing, reviewing, or implementing Safe Work Procedures and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) .
• Experience conducting and/or supporting incident investigations and reporting .
• Demonstrated ability to identify hazards and drive corrective actions through resolution.
• Proven ability to build positive working relationships with production teams and influence safety behaviors.
• Ability to confidently engage employees and leadership regarding safety concerns.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to deliver safety training and coaching to employees.
• Ability to work primarily in a field/shop-floor environment .
• Ability to consistently work the required Monday–Friday, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM night shift .
• Availability for occasional weekend work when previously coordinated with the HSE Manager.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science , or a related discipline.
• OSHA 30-Hour training completed or currently in progress.
• Previous field-based HSE experience within a manufacturing environment .
• Safety experience supporting mechanical or welding construction activities .
• Experience working directly with production teams in an industrial setting.
• Proactive approach to employee engagement and safety coaching.
• Strong commitment to continuous improvement, safety culture, and environmental stewardship.

Work Environment

This is not primarily a desk-based HSE position . Approximately 80% of the role is expected to be spent on the shop floor , providing direct field support within an LNG heat exchanger manufacturing facility.

The successful candidate should be comfortable working closely with production employees, warehouse personnel, supervisors, and site leadership and proactively addressing safety concerns as they arise.

This role requires someone who is visible, approachable, and confident enough to identify unsafe conditions, coach employees, conduct investigations, and stop work when necessary .
